Hey guys, I decided to finally tear into my sled today, I'm gonna tear it down, inspect everything and then reassemble. I decided to do this since theres nearly 10 000 km on it. When i pulled the powervalves out today I found that the PTO side had been pulled through.... which was fine however I'm lost as to how it pulled through, The last time I ran the sled I was at a radar run and it ran 113 MPH I guess my question is is this possible with a pulled through powervalve?? I didnt think it would be but I'm looking for any input. I havn't drove it since the radar run, after the run i drove it the 100 yards back to the truck and that was it.... Just curious if it could run that with the powervalve screwed up. Thanks a lot for any responses.

That explains your mph loss you shoukld be running higher mph than than that.
If you don't keep up on keeping your powervalves clean they get gummed up and stuck in the cylinder and that's how the cable pulls through because the serco motor is electronic so when it opens up and pulls on the powervalve and it's stuck something has to give.Replace them and clean them once a year and you will have no issues.

It looks like you get the same kind of miles that I do every year. I need to do mine a couple times a year on my 02. Right around every 1,000 miles I do mine

The thing is the powervalve was clean, it was pulled through, maybe i adjusted it a little to tight... I do keep them clean i clean them at the start of every season and usually halfway through. Its likely my own fault for adjusting them a little to tight, i'll get a new one and readjust them when i put the machine back together. I was just curious because I didnt think that you could go that fast with a pulled through valve... lol learn something everyday.

If you say they are clean yea you could of had it adjusted to tight, properly
adjusting PV's are just as important as keeping them clean.
when i got mine all 3 were pulled, and that thing was scary a$$ fast..

When i pulled a cable through a valve on my '01 i knew it instantly. Was running great early in the ride but then i dropped some top end, sounded different, and wasn't pulling over 8400 rpm when i had it clutched for 8500. Went to a dealer quick (luckily i was only about 10 miles away from the dealer in ishpeming, lol), used their tools and pulled it apart. They had one valve so i threw it in, adjusted it and was on my way good as new.

No for sure Daman I'm gonna do it properly and take my time, lol i got all summer anyways. Hopefully I dont find any other surprises when i pull it apart. Yamaholic22 i know what ya mean, i pulled one through before a few years ago and the sled turned into a real dog, so i knew right away that something was wrong somewhere, brought it home and tore into it and found the center valve was pulled through. Thats why this time it was weird because i didnt feel a difference at all in the machine.
