Hey gang ..
I'm hoping someone can help me out with a problem. My 1998 VMax 700 Triple XTC won't budge off "full" even tho it burns right thru a tank of gas. I've been told this is probably a bad fuel sender/sensor that needs to be replaced. Because I don't have the manual to the sled I'm unable to see where the part is located and if I can replace it myself.
Can any tech guys offer some insight on the part location .. degree of difficulty in replacing and any other helpful tips?
Thanks !!

Welcome to the site,
Check the grounds and check for any wires that might have rubbed through. You can also check the resistance through the sending unit; probe the sending unit connector with an ohm-meter while changing the position of the float to make sure the sending unit is working.
you can reach in with a magnet tool and grab the steel shaft of the sender and move the float up and down.

I took a telescoping magnet and just lifted the float valve up and down a few times, turned the key on and the fuel gauge read correctly. Lifted the float up and down a few times with the key on and watched the gauge move accordingly.
Guess whatever was making it hang up jiggled loose
Thanks so much daman!
