Hey guys...this could be a stupid questions...but I'm putting the
Viper Away for the summer and well...wanted to empty out the bowls...I've
already Fogged it etc so I can't run the fuel outta it.
My question is this...I took out the Air Box..and tried getting a wrech under the carbs to loosen the bolt to let the fuel empty out...but this sounds easier than done...its pretty tight down there...any tricks on doin this?...

cheers

If you got stabil in there i wouldn't worry about it just leave it, i do on all
mine,i never drain the carbs, but if you don't and you can't get to the
drain just loosen the clamp and pull the carbs up to get to it...

yeah...thats what I thought...I do have the Fitch fuel additives in there...but
thats in the tank, not like Stabil that could cirulate into the bowls...guess I'll indo
em and tip em over...

i would just pull the carbs off and drain them, you mentioned you already have the air box off, not much more to do to get the carbs out. my .o2

yes as bolin said the air box is the worst part getting off. Just un loosed all 3 carb clamps tip them up a little and lossen the crews or the caps on bottom .

Oh...actually I've got the Panel sitting on a window sill I have in the garage...and extended the wire and refitted an RCA styled plug that fits directly onto my Heated Visor hook up...(yes the Visor hook up is directly attached to the battery)...It works
great...
I've had 2 bad batteries in the past, So I got a panel for fathers day and figured I can use it this way...it works great when I stored the ATV for the winter aswell...

Yea that would work, cool, i just pull my batts out and keep 'em in the house in the back room and charge them every few months, your way would be less hassle tho, lol.

Yeah...I try and make things as effiecient as possible...I used to take the battery out, its not a huge hassle to do that and hook everything back up...this just lets
me get onto other projects that I overlook...
My brother in law told me a good thing with batteries ie. work tools, recreational or other batteries that get used from time to time...basically hook a timer on it for 1 hr a day...so whenever you wanna use that cordless drill or whatever..it'll always be charged...ya never miss a beat..

The viper carbs should have drain screws that are fairly easy to get to. They are phillips head screws on the carb bowls.

The access nuts for the main jets can be taken off if you want to get every last drop out.

I pull my carbs in the spring, empty them out, and clean them. Then they go into a plastic bag for the summer, and get stored in a dry place. This means that I have to put them on in the fall, but I like the piece of mind that nothing crawled up in there, or that I forgot to clean them.

Be sure to block off the intakes.

I just leave mine alone...and in the fall ever fall I drop the bowls and clean them out. Also syphon the fuel out and replace it with new fuel....The old fuel burns through the truck just fine.

I don't trust the fuel even with stable......ya never know so clean bowls and new fuel is safe
