How is everyone handling lifting their vintage sleds to work on them?

I just got back into vintage and have 2 70's Yami's (exciter and SRX)I am going to set up for stock oval racing this winter.
Will the the full sled lift that stores like Dennis Kirk and Shadetree sell work with vintage sleds? My only concern is the width of the lifting rails, that they might be too wide.

If they are too wide, what have you done to make it work, or have you found a better alternative?

Thanks,

Jeff

I am planning on building a work platform simular to this rack system pictured. Maybe even build the rack also. thoes racks that lift the tunnel and under the bulk head are limited to lifting the sleds only. By building a "platform" like this... I can use it for the motorcyles, ATV's, mowers... you name it!
here is a link to the manufactures site: http://www.rackalot.com/index.html

Has that stopped you from jumping out of
perfectly good planes ????? LOL
I havn't been on for a while and thought I would say HI .
...Most of the lifts are only 18" apart at most , just to
straddle the track and should work .

Ron, you busted me!!! yes I still jump out of airplanes. I'm a certified free fall junkie. Jumpin has slowed down alot though. Made maybe 30 jumps all last year. I've logged somewhere around 650 jumps now.

Ron, guy who know has my 433 hydraulic drive, also has your information as a contact.

Hey Guys,
I'm 51 with no back left. I bought a full lift that's perfect for motorcycles and added sides for sleds. It's air operated. I'll look for the site that I bought it from. I can never send any pictures of my stuff. It's allways to large. I'll try one of the lift in my shop. Oh using those hand lifts distroy the srx belly pans....Dean-o

Harbor freight tools has the cheapest price on Motorcycle/ sled lifts. They are the air operated type like real sled shops have. They have them on sale almost every month for right around $300.00. Pretty good quality. They are located on-line and also have stores all over the country for pick up. Jeff Wurl
