Has anyone used bombardier oil in yamaha two stroke sleds? Does it cause any problems? I don't expect it to cause any major problems, I'm just concerned with the power valves. This is for a 2000 SRX 700. Just that I have a gallon sitting around and no 2 yamaha 2 stroke oil and figured I'd use it up. Normally I run yamaha lube with yamaha sleds and run ski-doo with ski-doo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't use it,,,, stick with your Yamalube, somthing you know that will be good for the P/V's,there to much $$ to replace when you pull a cable through. $.02
I've heard.....
I have heard that the XP oils are excellent. I wouldn't worry too much about a synthetic oil plugging up your power valves as long as your oiler is adjusted correctly.

IF...it's a full syn it may work out ok..
What are you saying DAMAN?
So first you tell the guy to stick with Yamalube (semi-synthetic) then after I post you think it might be OK to use the Doo oil but only "IF it's full synthetic"? Seems kind of contradictory to me.
Seriously though.....I did read somewhere that the SkiDoo XP oil was very good stuff. Where did I read that? Someone chime in here.....is this oil good or not?

Well I don't think it's synthetic oil I have as I had my jug refilled at the dealer with his 2 stroke bulk ski-doo oil, which was around $30.00cnd for 4 liters.

i rememer reading it as well madmatt. i don't think its as good as full synthetic from amsoil and the like, but its better than the yamalube. i think it was in one of the oil topics with nosboy (good luck diggin through all those posts, but theres good info to be sought out). and i do remember hearing like jimmie d said that it was the worst smelling stuff of all time. i think someone brought it up because it was cheaper than yamalube and cheaper than amsoil, kinda like a middle ground purchase.

ski doo oil stinks but I would use it over yamalube any day
hlmrx1 run the oil you`ll be fine. For a few tanks of gas it can`t cause any problems.

Pro16 is right. Better than Yamalube (by far), but you don't want to be following someone using it. It stinks like you're slipping a belt the whole time.

Well I have used it for the last 2 years and have had no problems. Ya it does stink. I was going to go back to Yamalube BUT I could not get it localy were I ride and I can get the XP localy. Oh ya my sled is so old I don't have to worry about power valves.

Thanks guys, I'll run the 4 liters I have and pick up Yamaha oil after that.
Tehy have both
They have an XPS oil that is a mineral/syn blend for $28 a gallon (very similar to Yamalube) and a full synthetic XPS oil for $38 a gallon. Either one will be fine in your Yami (in my opinion) and the full syn will be FAR BETTER than Yamalube.
