Do you guys use any sort of sealer on your base gaskets?...Bottom end is complete & am ready to start top end build..

I HAVE ALWAYS GREASED MINE. THATS RIGHT, NEVER STICK OR TEAR AGAIN. JUST SMEAR ON WITH YOUR FINGER. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I use a copper spray a gasket it makes them tacky.I know many people on here use it or alot of the original guys.It's made by permatex.

i use permatex spray on gasket called " high tack". works great never had a leak yet.

Will a good cleaning w/ mineral spirits do the job?, then lubing up the cables & valves?

mineral spirtis should work.Anything really works some better than others.

aircraft stripper or carb cleaner and then even that stuff you need to soak
it and really scrap it to get it off, that carbon on these valves is nasty stuff.
i personally use aircraft stripper that stuff works great without taking off
the valve coating..
