These long washer plates on rails..yes or no

On the parts pic on the page here,#33 and #34 are called washers,which slide on down on the rails on an SRX,my old skid.On the SXR skid,it didn't have them,checked the parts list for the SXR and they are not there.Should I still use them,I guess it depends on the length of the shaft going back in there.

Yep I checked..the shaft that goes in that location is 1/4" shorter then the SXR shaft.Does that bracket really do anything for strength,I think not.I would just switch shafts if I was to use them brackets.
