will a skid from a 98 mountain max 600, 700 or simular fit in my 2001 SXR700 triple with a 121 track..? Iam looking to put in a 136" with 1.5" track.

YUP!! Just make sure to get ALL the brackets. I got mine for my Viper and had no drop brackets for the rear. Rode it 3 trips and finally got them installed. MUCH smoother ride.Once you do this you'll never want to ride a shorty again!!

Viper_ Dave, doesn't he also need to extend his tunnel?

DOOOOH!!! Yea, I forgot to add that. I used all Yamaha parts, ( got a GOOD deal), thus making it much easier. Added 136 side coolers and a rear cooler. ALL the rivet holes in the new parts lined up perfectly with my existing holes. It was a LOT of work, but worth it. Something like 500 rivets when I was all done. Get an air riveter if you have access to a compressor. There are a lot of other options out there, but if I did it over, I'd use GadeThrasher's tunnel extension and TracksUSA rail extensions. Quicker and just as clean an install. Again, just MY humble opinion. Here's my Viper in action;

Thank God for Ohlins!! That would have been DEATH to the old KYB's LOL. Only real problem was all the saplings that are slightly out of the fram in that pic. Ask Maxdlx LOL!! I ended up tearing my snowflap all up. Had a 1 1/2" sapling stuck in it.

I put a 136" skid in 01 sxr. I agree w/ Viper Dave use a air riveter. I had a sore hand for three days with all those fn rivets. Will be the best thing you do.
