On the transfer rod there is usually 2 white plastic washers. One above and one below the rod body.I have the Maximum performance adj. rods on my SRX.The washers are both about 3/8" inch thick top and bottom.Isn't the thick one go on top and a thinner one go on the bottom end.And what would the thickness of the thinner washer be?I may have to sand the bottom ones down then.

After you put the skid back in and have decided what hieght the front and will be and were you will have the shocks adjusted in the rear add the right size spacer on the botton to fill the gap when no wieght is on the seat and does not pull on the transfer rods when you tighten the bottom bolts.

Blue,

The instructions that came with those transfer rods (which I will get to you when I find them!!), said to take the existing stock washers of the staock rods and put them on the new ones. My SXR didn't have any washers on when I bought it so I bought new ones from Yamaha. Yamaha listed the same part number fopr the top and bottom washers on the SXR. Can't say if they're different ona SRX. You should be able to use the ones I gave you and just adjust using the rods.

Unsure if its the same on an SRX as Viper...but I just replaced the old parts with new ones and kept the washers in the same place..I asked about this awhile back with little response...the positive note when it was complete that it flat out rocks and made a difference...and I don't hafta pulll out wrenches when the conditions change..sweeet!!!

Good luck...

Thanks alot for the advice there guys. And exciterfan, the skid was stripped down, repainted parts, changed bearings and seals, tightened everything up better then stock and re-inforced that w-arm good.Got the 7.5 wheels to get mounted properly .Got 3 circlips today locally, still need 1 more, but can now assemble everything on skid, get driveshaft in,the track and line everything up.When I get another circlip ,it will be for the outside rear wheel, which I can just slide off the end and install it.Once this is all complete which will be in the next couple of days,I will start to tear the front end and re -build and get them Simmon's ski's on.May paint the trailing arms blue like on my SXR.Got lots of time till winter, but will do things right first time. Then it will be the carbs and clutching after that.Later dude.Hot out there for you Len.40C. with humidity. My garage is insulated and is a comfortable 22 C. in there...just perfect to work.I am on 1 weeks holidays also.
