electric start removal problem

hey, i was wondering if any of you guys ever had a problem removing the ring gear on the primary clutch (i broke 2 screw drivers in half so far) and the screws never moved at all. and another question. my sled is a 03 venture 700 and im going to sell the electric start system but im having a hard time getting the wire off (the one from the key to the relay switch) dose all the proaction dual bulb yamaha snowmobiles without electric start have this wire and plug in?? so i my not even have to take it off.... any info would be great

The screws have lock-tite on them. The easiest way to get them out is to heat the area real good and they will come right out.

anyone know about the wire from the key to the relay switch? dose it come on all those types of machines?

Will it now need a smoothing diode? (is that what it's called?)
