I have a lead on a few skids for my 02 viper er.
1)01 Edge 800 w/fox shocks
2)SC-10 4 xps package
2)sc-10 4 x package
3)02 zr 800
was wondering what guys knew of these skids. Should I stay away from anyone of these skids. I will be putting it in my 02 viper, I weigh just shy of 300lbs w/gear. Ride aggresive trail and boondock. What ever skid I end up with will likely be streched into a 136". I want something with better transfer for boondocking and a little smoother on the stutters and small moguals then my proaction. Also welcome any other low cost skid replacement ideas for my sled. Or should I just revalve, respring mine?

The sc4 suspensions are awesome.I would go with one of them and put the edge 2 on your list.
The sc4 is probaly the most durable skid out of the 4 manufactures.

If you like the rough stuff, a Pro-X skid would be much better suited than an Edge skid. Pro-X skid is built like a shit brick house. It may look the same as an Edge skid, but the shocks and geometry are different, the Pro-X skid is stronger and lighter too. I haven't ridden any newer doo's with SC-4 though so I can't tell you how they compare to a Pro-X skid......and I'm pretty sure www.jbshocks.com has mounting instructions on his site for putting a Pro-X skid in a Proaction chassis, or give him a call and I'm sure he'll give them to you.

The only problem i`ve heard about putting a sc10 3 or 4 in a yamaha is trying to get good weight transfer. I talked to a couple guys that made that switch and their weight transfer was not good at all even after messing with the skid. Thats why i changed my mind and am putting an edge in mine. Talk to anyone that put an edge in and they are extremely happy.

are they only moving the front mount up? Is there no need to move the rear mount?
