Well its been a rough month deciding on what i was going to do with my 99 srx this summer, at first i wanted to port the motor, long travel and play with Nitrous. The only down side is it would not be a practical trail sled. I have always dreamed about racing and want to built a bad a?? sled. I came accross this add that was local for a 2001 SRX . On the clock it has 4200 miles the owner told me at 2400 miles he blew the motor and Yamaha replaced the whole motor . The guy was asking $2900 and i got it for $2500 Canadian. This is going to be my trail sled, which i'm going to long travel it and widen the front end. I will post pics tonight once i clean her up, I got her home at 11pm lastnight. Now i can build a real bad a?? sled out of my 99 srx, and i pretty much want to go all out and build somthing like Valin's SRX. Its going to be a long summer now can't wait to try her.
Sweet deal man! Can't wait to see pics.
So get that old one ripped apart and get it to MrViper already! If it's going to be a racer, might as well stick with the shaved 0.75 track you already have and stud the crap out of it (if it's still in good shape). If it's not in good shape, SNOWRULES has an old stock track (0.75) he might be willing to sell ya. Put the sucker on backwards, think he's already got 192 holes in it for ya.
Anyway, sounds like you are going to have a busy summer/fall now.
Enjoy!

Yeah it was a really sweet deal, i got 2 covers with it, a HJC helmet with the electric visor, Leather Yamaha pants and 6 liters of oil. The shaved track has 244 picks already and is in very good shape. I want to go all out with my 99 srx, i think it wont' be ready until the start of 2008 season. I don't think i would be happy unless it was doing 150mph on the radar. Well thats the goal i will be shooting for. Before sending to MrViper700 i need to get the best and biggest big bore there is for this thing and then send it to him for a full lake race port. I think for now i'm going to be looking for a suspension (wahls brothers) lighten the chasis as much as i can then start working on the motor. Let the fun begin

Great deal on the sled.
You should look into and decide on which class you want to run this sled. If you run in an improved class, you can't run an aftermarket suspension.......Here's a link for the rules and classes on ice:
http://www.geocities.com/nbssr2004/classes.html
They also created an 1100cc improved class because there are quite a few of us just over the 1000 class.
They don't have the schedule up this year, but there will be a few more events, and supposedly one in Ottawa, so i'll be heading your way.
