I have a case ported by mrviper 98 srx. I went to do some work on the weekend in the chaincase and noticed the chain was broken. the stock 15 wide chain was snapped half way through in one spot and had 2 broken plates in another. i had planned on regearing this summer anyways and had some spare 13 wide gears and a chain lying around that i was gonna use. my question is, is the 13 wide setup strong enough? do you think the 15 wide chain breaking was just from wear and tear? "13000km on the 15 wide chain. now i'm not sure what to do. any help would be great guys.

cool that's what i wanted to hear. figured the 13 wide setup would be a bit lighter and have less rotating mass as well. it's a good thing i noticed though that would have been a rough ride with no brakes at over 100 mph

I RAN THE 97 700 SX GEARS IN MY 99 SRX. WORKED GREAT AND FOR SOME REASON, ALOT LESS MONEY. NOW 13 WIDE ALL THE WAY IN MY 00 SRX. DUDE, YOU WOULD OF HAD MORE PROBLEMS THAN JUST NO BRAKES IF THAT CHAINCASE WOULD OF LET GO AT 100 mph, you of thought somebody put a bomb under your hood. 3:16 (yammie tony)
