I too was sorry to see that thread end. Vintage stories and the guys who were actually THERE are disappearing and alot of young guys are missing out on a whole other world that is the ROOTS of this sport. Alot of these old hot rods are being turned into nick nacks or boughten up just to go to shows. I talk to alot of people at shows who own these types of sleds and I am surprized how little some of them actually know about what they have. That knowledge is stored in the minds of guys like Tony and others and will be lost if it isn't passed on. It's forums like this and threads like that one that help pass this history along.

I don't know the story behind why it was locked and frankly don't want to. It was clear that Tony had some old issues and said a couple of things that probably didn't need to be said but he QUICKLY moved on and it was dropped. Locking that thread may be completely justified (again I don't know) but it sure seemed to come on fast when compared with the "rip off" thread that has been going on over at the Dog Pile. That thread started out NEG and has been going on for quite some time. It may be completely justified from the perspective of those involved but there is some very specific information given in it that could be damaging to someone and most of the back and forth there could also have been done through PM's or over the phone yet it's been allowed to continue.

I'm not trying to knock anyone or tell anyone how to do their job and I'm sure the moderators on this site have a tough job keeping up with all of us so I do applaude them for their time and effort. Without them we would all just be sitting around waiting for more grass to cut but from my perspective as a relitive newcomer to this site it seems alittle inconsistant to lock this thread and allow that one to continue.

Just my 2 cents which may not be worth anything.

P. S. To Tony and anyone else that has experiance with old muscle. I for one can't get enough of it and would love to hear more.

opsled, you're 100% right, and when I think about it there's other threads that have been locked in the past that have had alot of good information in them. I'm gonna go back and try to sort thru them, but the condition is that sleeping dogs will be let lie, and the old fights stay in the past.

Thanks again, I'm in complete agreement with wakin up to an owly old hound and bashin skulls. I've found that dogs are usually smarter than me and I've never had much luck fightin while layin on my back with a busted lip.
