Hey guys, i figure i am past the point of just rings on my 2000 SRX. It's got over 11,500kms or 7200miles. Just looking at parts micro fiche and this is what i think i will need: pistons, rings, pins&circlips, bearings, seals and bottom end gasket. Am i missing anthing?...........thanks............James

Junior i think you are talking about the 2 inner ring seals on the heads. If so i have those on my list.
Mulderdad thanks on the water rail gaskets.

I always get the cylinders honed too when doing a top end. Lets the new rings re-seat.

that's the ones I'm talking about ya.
they're available from industrial supply shops for really cheap, usually I'll order a dozen or 2 dozen of them at a time. they're like $0.15 each or so.

so a shop that specializes in hydraulics would have the o rings junior?? I need a new set for my engine thats why im asking. Are they special o-rings or will any o-ring the same size and diameter work? I know the inner one is red so is it made of a special rubber to withstand the greater heat? Not sure of it thats why I'm asking but if they are the same it would definately be cheaper then yamaha i imagine

if it is any colour than black, it is most likely a silicone o-ring. they take heat better than the rubber ones. lots of them in desil motors.

so all one would have to do is tell them you would want a silicone o-ring for the inner one and the outter one could remain a normal rubber one since it is black?
