Will be assembling the front end on my SRX.Have new Simmon's ski's also.They need to be mounted with 0 camber because of the dual carbides..that is easy .My question is toe out.On these skis I think they have to be perfectly parallel to each other.So I know the ski's will toe out with more weight on sled or when front end is moving up and down.So to be precise,do I have to weigh the sled down equal to my weight and gear and gas tank full,then adjust ski's parallel at this point.I think so.How much weight would 10 gallons of fuel be roughly.I will weigh the sled down with some heavy 4" angle iron that I have.

I have all the info I can print on the topic.Only now I am working with Simmon's ski's which are dual carbide.I'll have to make sure that they are perfrctly level,touching both carbides at the same time.
I adjusted my camber to what the tool I used to 0 degrees.Mounted the trailing arms,hooked shocks,control arms up and got the ski's on.Lowered the sled onto the floor...the ski's are still not level exact.Inside carbides are touching,outside carbides up off the floor a bit.This with the ski's pointing straight.Now I will have to remove the lower contol rods and crank the heim joints in a few turns.No problem anyways,I have all the exhaust and header pioes out for easy access.
Once I can get the ski's level,then the toe out is next.I guess with dual carbides,I can still give a slight toe out,but not much...maybe an 1/8",that with the sled weighted down as if I were riding it,and allowing for full gas tank.I'll weigh the sled down down about 175 lbs for my weight and gear.Will have to figure what 10 gallons of fuel weigh approx.
Anyone got a height from the floor to under the front bumper on the SRX(2002).I wanna see if because of flipping my shock brackets if I gained any height...Thanks.

get a 5/8 inch rolled steel bar and slide it through the spindles. This gives you 0 toe, and 0 camber and is cheap. Most hardware stores or farm supply stores sell the rod. Maxdlx

Well took them bloody control arms off the bottom and cranked the Heim joints in 2.5 to 3 turns.A few words were used when putting them back in,but it is done.The ski's now sit flat and level on the floor,on both carbides equally.I cut 2 pieces of wood to go between the ski's.Made them equal and ski's are parallel now.Will continue to align the ski's and will only allow 1/8" toe out once sled is weighed down.

Well it is all done now.Front end is finished and aligned.Took 4x4 angle iron 10' long and placed against track and along inside of one ski.Cut 2 lengths of boards and spaced between the ski's to keep them parallel at all times.Bungie corded the ski's so they wouldn't spread.Made sure sled was weighed down a bit and centered the handle bar.Allowed 1/8" toe out,then installed the tie rods and tightened them up and snug.Removed all the boards ,bungies,steel bar,the added weight and she is perfecty aligned for me or the best she will ever be.
Height in front from floor to underside of bumper is 15 7/8" and the height from floor to center or rear bumper is 22 1/2".

Don't knw why Yamaha wouldn't have designed it that way from the beginning..sheesh!!!Sometimes them engineers aren't all there.

Ya, but yamaha and everyone else meassures profit by the penny. The hiems are a better choice and your whole setup is worth the dollars spent on it. My point is that Yamaha would save costs in production by using hiems on only one end, and thats why they were the way they were.

I did not read monsters reply just yours! My bad ! Yes when they build from the factory money is way up there in priority! The metric heim joints are crazy high!
