just picked up an 03 RX1 a few weeks ago. noticed that the large rear suspension shock just has a collar with notches type adjustment. i have an almost brand new 02 viper shock with the threaded adjuster sitting on my shelf. my question is, is there any benefit to swapping out the rx1 shock for the viper shock? would it give me a better ride or better adjustability in the rear suspension? if anyone knows please chime in thanks.
The Viper shock would have to be revalved and possibly, a new spring. Larry at North Country had Viper shocks on his 03, but custom valved. The threaded body allows more precise adjustment . I would contact him, or Bruce at Pioneer Performance, they'll have the exact answer you're looking for.
