When wrenching on a snowmobile?
I found grease in my airbox on the newly bought Mountainmax. I cannot understand why anyone would grease up an airbox. Maybe it has been yamalube, but it has not been burnt, so that still won't explain the find..

Do you mean grease or oil?A lot of sleds I work on have a little spit back of oil in the airbox.
Hard to determine really, but this was at the very top of the airbox. It had the same color as yamalube, maybe a little lighter, BUT it was not burnt and it was much thicker than yamalube...

Ahh Thats an old Nascar trick. They found Michael Waltrip with that stuff in his intake manifold early in the season and kicked him out of the race. Supposed to make the air slippery or somthin and gain some HP's or maby somebody put it in there to keep the plastic from rustin.
(I think i'm loosin my mind)

Some people wipe grease or oil in there box to help catch dirt, but you
will have spit back oil in there especially if it's a trip with no boost bottle.

Once I found some bright green panties in my sleds air box. I guess my sled had been eating some pussycat. They did have black grease/oil/brake dust stains on them, kind of like cat riders jackets. J/King.

Spring tool laying in the belly pan of a 1999 SRX. The coolest part is it was in there the first time I opened the hood after taking it right out of the crate! That spring tool had a long trip!
