went to a local drag event this weekend. Watched alot good racing. Top single cylinder speed for the day was 68mph in 500 ft. It was a Sachs 340r in a snojet. Beat up on my friends super strong SR292 wich turned only 63mph....
68 is pretty narley if you ask me. Kinda makes me want to take one of my reed valve GP300's and build it up just for this one event! (I'm to chicken to take my sr292 and convert it form ice ovals for only one grass event

Cool, those numbers are pretty respectable.
I've heard stories from old dealers that a good GP292 in perfect conditions would hit 70mph on the speedo.
Obviously not as accurate, but still pretty good for the sled
