Just wondering if anyone one knows if worn ski bottoms would make my Viper drive like crap? I have had this Viper for a couple years now. I could drive for miles using only my right hand. Last year things changed. Now you better hang on at all times because it is darting all over the place. I have not changed any of the setting since I bought the machine. I did add 96 studs down the middle. I was also wondering when and if the stock Viper shocks should be serviced or rebuilt.

So your sled just started darting all of a sudden? Something could be out of alignment in the suspension or the runners might not be straight at all. If the bottoms are really worn that could cause a problem too. I'd check the runners first and then make sure the skis are aligned/correct toe-out.
Adding studs might make the sled push in corners if you have too much traction in the rear.
Kayabas are normally pretty tough but if they've never been serviced before, they should be due by now. Normally 2000-3000 miles between rebuilds, you can wait more but the quality of the ride degrades slowly, you might not notice it until you ride with good shocks and see the difference.

Check alignment first like above mentioned. If you have the stock skis and they are worn I would replace with some C&A Ad from Rich Motorsports. Add the 6 or 8 Shaper bars and Berstrom ski savers to the keel and the sled will RAIL. I have this set up on my sled and I can one hand. Somthing is off or worn. Good luck.
