mach z flat slide carbs on a srx

Thanks but I already have set. Just needing some before I install them Like where to start as far as boots and jetting.

Phazer boots will work and have provisions for a boost bottle.

if my memory is working anyways, it's 5 years ago now or so since thinking about that.

phazer boots are a straighter tract then srx boots, thats why they use them. You can either block off the boost bottle tracts or run one, they dont lose any hp.

No Bob more like you have pipes on it, the intake boots are only a drop in the bucket, they dont make a big differance between the 2, the straighter the boot the better, and going into a oversize reed cage is even better, such as a polaris triple cage along with the straight boots produces good power gains. But its all the little things that add up when a engine is completed.
The pipes are the only thing your gaining with on a 835, without them they dont make any more substantial hp then a 780 does. The pipes are a good item, one of the few that actually make power on a srx. If you were to compare apples to apples as far as mods like case porting, compression/head set up, timing, stock carb size, etc. the 835 with a sleeved cylinder will make no more substantial power then a nicasiled 780 will, the steel sleeved cylinder transfers less heat away from the piston, and at alot slower rate, and can not be run as lean. Before someone starts talking about supporting the skirts, if you weld up the rear skirt supports on a 780 before they are bored there is absolutely no problem with them breaking, they are then thicker then stock.
I know you will not believe that there could possibly be something as good as "Benders" stuff, but the 835 isnt the only way to get good srx/viper hp and be completely reliable. You got a nice engine from the sounds of it, but its not the only path to take to get the same results.

mrviper700:

as you said "the intake boots are only a drop in the bucket, they dont make a big differance". then why reccommend them?? i was trying to save the guy some $$.
nickasil is not the second coming of christ. steel sleeves work as well as nickasil & can be run as lean. if you do a search on here you will find my explanation. i'll take the extra 55 cc's of the 835 over the 780 any day. there is no substitute for cc's.
i will be taking a 835 with stock: pipes, compression, timing & carbs to dynotech in the near future & will post my results here.

Bob, I didnt post a reccomendation to go out and buy them. I merely said "they have a straighter tract thats why they use them". They DO gain power, not any giant amounts by themselves and along with a bigger reedcage in a srx/viper it is a pretty decent gain. I also noted that its all the little things that make a big differance in the end of a completed mod engine.
As for the steel sleeved engine vs the nicasil cylinders on a 2 stroke, I will only say, I will agree to disagree with you, theres more then plenty of information to be found on the net on this subject if someone chooses to read about it.

It will be interesting to see your results with your new project engine. I will be looking forward to reading your post, thanx.

Was this ever done? i am interested in seeing the results.

crazy:

had to move it forward a bit - should be doing soon. my trail 835, with reverse, is posted on dynotech's blog under april. jim asked me to bring it back so we could jet it for the days temp ( was chicken rich the day we dynoe'd - 186 hp ). he wants to post results with safe for the day jetting - he said it will be over 190. will have jim post cranking pressure also so any doubters will see it is same as stock.
same day we do this will also be bringing my Bender trail sxr800 ( also with reverse ), stock cranking pressure & results will be posted on dynotechresearch.com.
