I just recently picked up an old Excel III from a buddy. I had it at my farm for the previous winter and loved it so much that I had to buy it. I'm not sure because the serial number plate is somewhat worn away, but I think it is an '85. I am looking for any/all the information that I can get about it. Preferrably, I am looking for an owner's manual, or service manual, but any information that people can give me is greatly appreciated. I consider myself a beginner when it comes to snowmobiles, but love to learn new things. The more information that I can get about this sled, how to maintain it, what makes it tick, aftermarket parts, what to watch out for, etc., the better. Thank you everyone in advance. Matt

You might be able to find the owner's manual for it online at yamaha's website, www.yamaha-motor.com They have all the owner's manuals for all of the newer equipment on the site (go to parts and service), but I'm not sure how far back the manuals go. Check it out and see if it is there or not.
manuals only go back to '98 on the Yamaha site.
