anyone know how involved the electric start delete is on an 02 viper? i've heard that there is a harness that you remove but you have to put smoothing caps in or something like that.
any help appreciated.

I have deleted them on sxr's.
I took the starter ring off the primary.Take out battery and bracket,starter and the starter wires just unplug from your wiring system and that's it.

you will need a set of smoothing coils, they take the place of the battery and absorb voltage spikes. unfortunately er and reg have two different harnesses. yours doesnt have the plugs. you would need to make up a connector to hook the two smoothing coils to your power side(+ where the battery used to connect) and ground the other side as i remember. ill try to remember to trace it out in the manual for you tomorrow.

betheviper, does it cover removing it in the manual or should i just look at the wiring schematic of the non er version.
i just checked, red to battery power, black to ground.
Just a thought maybe, wouldnt it be easier to just swap the wiring harness out to a non er unit? theres plenty to be found with all the parting out of vipers lately. I dont know, just a thought???
