thinking of purchasing a tempa flow.
does anyone have any negative feedback on them?
From my understanding and research all they do is control the atmosphere presure by controlling the amount vented into yuour airbox. Or control the atmosphere presure, so you jet richer for -25c and the tempa adjusts the presure to lean out.
ANy in fo on this will help thanks
am i on the right track, can someone who has experrience chime in on this.

I had one on my 900 Cat for 2 years, and it did exactly what it was advertised to do IMO, over wildly varying temps. There is some however that think you are always slightly/slowly damaging your pistons using these, and their like. There is tons of reading on the net about this issue, here's a little:

I've been running one on my 02 Viper since 2003 and it has performed flawlessly. My sled is basically stock. Also put one on a buddys xc800 and it has worked well there too.

riding in quebec it would be nice sence some days we go out and its -5c then on the way home its -20. and flip flops form 1deg c to -15 in a day.
thanks for some info thats a good link, kinda scares me, i think id rather not worry about it, and just run rich when it warms up.

i used one for a year and still have it, just havent used it since. they work good if you install them correctly. they are the safest when installed out of the engine compartment.
What BTV says about the mounting location is true. I had mine mounted with the inlet/adjustment basically protruding the lower corner of my dash. It is imperitave that the install instructions are followed to the letter, including hose lenghts, elevations of various parts relative to each other, and that after stopping during a ride, you don't jump on and hammer it, without riding a few minutes, and ensuring the unit is actually adjusting for the ambient air, not the warm under hood air. If you cannot live with this, do not install one IMO!
Shortly after installing mine, I did a 1700 mile 7 day trip in N Ont, and durinf the trip the temps varied from -36C to +4C the last day. Being curious, and anal, I checked the plugs every day, and they were perfect cardboard brown, every day regardless of temps.

You can set it up that way.Was thinking of doing that with mine on the SXR.
When I had the tempaflow, the dcs on my 2002 srx blinked more than it does now.

tempaflow
Norwegion - Thats because the engine started leaning out. Anyone with pipes should not even think about a tempaflow. None of the engine builders like these. Jeff Simons told me to stay away.

Yeah I know. The dcs went haywire when the underhood temps got higher, e.g after a long run.

tempaflow regulates fuel flow from the carb thru sensing airbox pressure and then creating a vacuum in the float bowl - that's why you jet for the richest condition.

I ran a tempaflo on my 02viper for a little better than a year. I have no major complaints but did find in an area with no altitude changes it ran more consistant without it than with.
