you will get many answers to this question, everyone has their own opinion.
to me vintage is 20 years old, but to the next guy vintage is 25 years old. that leads to the next question. what is an antique?

If you read and believe the sled magazines........ anything older than the current year is vintage and those that are 2 or more years of age should be taken to the back forty and lit on fire.......! Most will say 15-20yrs. is vintage and 20+ is antique ?

Antique
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An item which is at least 100 years old and is collected or desirable due to rarity, condition, utility, or some other unique feature. Motor vehicles, tools and other items subject to vigorous use in contrast, may be considered antiques in the U.S. if older than 25 years, and some electronic gadgets of more recent vintage may be considered antiques
antique (noun) - Any piece of furniture or decorative object or the like produced in a former period and valuable because of its beauty or rarity.
This definition allow people to make a distinction between genuine antique pieces, vintage items or collectible objects.
The alternative term antiquities is commonly used to refer the remains of ancient art and everyday items from antiquity, which themselves are often archaeological artifacts.
An antique by definition is anything 100 years or older. People sometime mistake collectibles for antiques. A true collectible is anything that is 50-100 years old. Vintage items are also confused for antiques and collectibles. A true vintage item is anything that is from 1950's, 60's and 70's and is "retro" to the time it was made.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT !!!!!! lol! ALOT OF THE SHOWS WE GO TO CUT OFF AT LEAF SPRINGS. I ALSO SEE EARLY EIGHTES SLEDS STARTING TO SHOW. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I SEEN A VMAX 4 AT A VINTAGE SHOW. ! 3:16 (yammie tony)
A little off topic....but
My son races motocross in the summer and this year at the amatuer race at Unadilla they had a "vintage" class. To qualify the bike had to be 6 years or older. They had 99's running in the vintage class!! It was crazy to see bikes that new in a "vintage" class.....and, not fair for those poor guys riding bikes that were 20-30 years old or older.

Vintage is in the eyes of the beholder.
I had an old guy tell me once " This dog can still hunt he just don't waste any time chasing his tail anymore" which preaty much sums it up eh Tony?
Around here vintage is usually classified as 81 and older but as Tony says they include leaf spring only alot of times when they are setting up classes for drags.
