How would a stock 02 Viper fair head to head with a stock 05 longtrack RX1?

I would have to take the RX1.......... If the viper was piped then you would have a race........IMO

Drag racing the RX1 will take the Viper. Mainly cause of the 20-25hp diff. between the 2 sleds.
Racing through tight twisty trails(bumpy or not), I personally would rather be on a Viper esp. if its really bumpy.
There are some guys on here that went 4 stroke and came back to a Viper or Long Traveled SRX because of the weight factor in tight bumpy trails. Some swear by 4 strokes and some swear by 2 strokes its really a never ending topic. (ME) as of now the only 4 Stroke Yami Id think on purchasing would be a Phazer cause of its size, weight, and potenitial of making 140-165HP.

I am one of the guys that tried 4-stroke (06 Apex GT) and now have it for sale, and going back to my good ole Viper. I didn't like the 4-stroke in the tight twisty moguls and perfer the Viper of course the Viper isn't stock.ExpertXViper said:Drag racing the RX1 will take the Viper. terry i think it would depend on traction products and the length of the race. also the long track on the rx-1 should shave a few mph's off the top end. i know you're viper will take my nytro but if you want to try. thats ok too.

All. I was just curious. Last sled was an SRX and I always faired well against 03 and 04 stock RX1's. My riding buddy just bought a sweet 05 RX1 so i need to have some intel I figured I would loose on long lake but would do much better through the trails. I don't want to put pipes on the viper but will plan on some clutching. I will try it out and see how I like it first. Thanks all !
Larry we have some fun soon!

Vipers aren't the fastest thing out there by any means, but they are great all around sleds and actually have very surprising top end numbers for their horsepower output.

I would say race him and find out. If the previous owner didn't know what he was doing, the clutching could be out to lunch and other things not done right like ECP kit, track to tight, etc... Viper should smoke him through the twisties.

I rode for four days with an RX1 and raced in several formats.
Twisties, forget about it, nothing beats the Viper.
Drag race across the lake was fairly close until the top end where he usually walked me slowly.
Interestingly we had virtually identical gas milage.
Viper was ahead of its time, except the rear suspension!

terry i know what you really need. i was up to moosehead motorsports in greenville sat. and malcolm the owners has supercharged 3 attacks, one for himself and 2 for sale, dont know about price but they are the mpi kits i believe the sleds are running about 350 horse. and he has a couple 05 warriors left i can probably get you a good deal on one.

I had a Rx1 03 with lots of clutch work and other mods. The key word is HAD!

Blue missile, No thanks not this year. I am still looking for a sled for the wife. She wants a vmax 1999 just like she had and they are hard to find. I will be happy with the Viper, good all around sled and like new.
Thanks Terry

I have had both a 136 viper and a warrior. The warrior will flat out run a stock viper in a straight line. My viper was piped, mega head, picked, and it wouldn't keep up with an 06 attak as well as the warrior would in stock form. The warrior in the twisties for me wasn't that much different than the viper. But I am 6'3" 300 lbs so i can make it turn too. Now I have a sled that gets 10 mpg better than the viper, and uses no oil. Me, I am very happy. With the few little things I have done over the summer, I am sure I will be even happier with the warrior. Maxdlx
