I just got back from haydays where I picked up a set of c&a skis and I just put them on my srx. Do I need to do any adjustments, down pressure? I am also wondering what model they are being that a stoled them off of a guy for 70 bucks and they look like they have about 100 miles on them. I got the mounting kit from rich and a set of new carbides 6" carbides. 145 bucks later I am pumped for snow!!!!!!! They are 6 inches wide and they have a large square keel. They rest of the ski is flat. I am wondering how they will affect the flowtation of my sled in snow and water???

Sounds like I have that same ski you are talking about. I have a 6" carbide on them and to me that is not enough. I think I will try the shaper bar from studboy. I am likely going to try a 7.5"ish carbide. I guess I have never changed my set-up for my sled when tryng a new ski, just put'em on and go. My next set of skis might be a pair of simmons skis. Who now's......I went to haydays on Saturday....good crowd......saw Pat Hauk run a couple of rounds at the grass drags......Always fun to see an old v-max still kicking butt!!!

I really loved my sets of C&A's. Love the way they rail the corners, and love how they look. Also EVERYONE has carbides for them because it is such a popular ski. Other aftermarket skis can be much harder to get carbides for. Only change you may need with the C&A's is a change in ski pressure, but that can only be determined after riding it. Letting out the limiter/tightening center spring will take weight off the skis, as well loosening the front preloads.

I had a set of C&A's on my srx with 8" carbides and I liked them. As yamaholic said point and shoot little darting if any depending on conditions. The only thing I found with them if the snow had a light crust that you broke thru they were scary at speed. Which I think is caused from the deep keel

I have a pair of ADV C&A skis with 6" Shaper bars and Berstron Ski savers.
I really like the Shaper bars, they wear real good. The Berstrom ski savers add and extra 1/4 to the keel and save the bottom of your skis from getting all chewed up. They cost $15 shipped?

I put XT's on my Viper with 8" Bergstrom triples and the Skisaver. Had to let my limiters OUT!! HAd really cranked them tight trying to get my then new 136" sled to turn. Put them back to less than stock and it turned REAL well !!
