Last year was the first year I put any amount of miles to speak of on my 98 srx. It is all stock , engine , carbs. and clutching. Compression is fine but the center cyld. likes to fowl plugs. Could it be that the stock jetting is to rich ? Any help in this matter would be great , I don't want to through parts at it , I'm used to the old sleds that were much simpler than this , the only carbs. I've messed with are mikuni round slides. Thanks , Dana

DANA, NO WAY AROUND IT BUD. CARBS HAVE TO COME OFF. START AT THAT MIDDLE CARB. ALTHOUGH YOU MAY HAVE BAD REED, ALSO MIGHT BE COIL OR COIL WIRE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

its a good idea to clean the carbs every season, but first do a ohms reading on the plug caps. if you do not get close to 5k--replace. what a diff it made to my 99 srx 700!!

If you lean it, make sure you are doing it where it is fouling. low mid etc. Also do plug and piston checks afterwards. Maxdlx
