US into Can

I have bought 2 used sleds and have imported into Ontario. I am not sure about buying new from a dealer but buying used was well worth it if you find the right machine. The website www.RIV.ca should answer most of your how to questions. The only problem that I have heard about with new machines is that your warrenty is not valid in Canada. This means any service will have to be done at a US dealer. If you feel comfortable with that and you find a good price I say go for it!

warrenty is only good in the us. you have to take the sled back there for any warrenty work. we saved almost $3000 on a new rage by buying it from a dealer in new york. and altho it has been posted that us dealers cant sell to canadians, if you find the right dealer they will sell to canadians no questions asked. if anybody lives in eastern ontario pm me and ill give you the name of a dealer we use in new york.

I have a dealer who ships me parts when something breaks under warranty.. I just need to install it myself.. so its no to bad... they are Yamaha.. not too much goes wrong.. and if the something serious like your motor pops... drive it over to the dealer again.. Legally Yamaha can't deny you warranty in Canada. It just takes longer as the dealer in Canada will have to send paperwork to Yamaha USA for payment. Toyota got sued and they now honour their warranty anywhere in NA for US or CAN units.
