Well i spent a good part of the day saturday swapping skids and tracks. I went to harbor freight ahead of time and bought a air/hydralic rivot gun but after 2 rivots the darn thing wouldn`t work! :o| After an hour of messing with that i gave up on it but luckily one of the guys that stopped into the shop had one at home so he went and got it for me. When i pulled my chaincase cover i found a bolt head laying in the bottom of the chaincase and the washer was on top of my upper gear. It was the bolt that holds the lower gear on and it had snapped off. No idea how long it was like that but i am sure lucky it didn`t cause massive trouble. Guess it was time to pull it all apart anyways to check everything out. I sure love the way the edge skid looks and feels in my sled already. Of course i had to make a few runs in the grass to make sure everything was ok and man does this thing transfer weight now! I will have to make some adjustments once we get some snow to get it set-up right but i think it`s going to make this sled even more fun to ride.

Here are a few pics..

I`ll have to get some better pics outside. It was getting late in the pics came out a little dark inside. But i think it looks and feels great!

Oh i was frustrated by the time i get it all back together. The job itself wasnt bad but the complications and tool malfunctions drove me nuts

You will love it I have one in my RX1 only selling because I bought a Zx2, have fun with it, it will ride like a caddy now!!

Well like i said i had a few set backs but i think i could of had it all done in around 6-7 hours if i didnt run into problems. And i worked on it mostly myself.

Looks great! Just like mine. And let me tell you that it will transfer like a S.O.B. if you want it to. The first time I drove the sled I had the skid set for most transfer and I couldn't keep the skis on the ground. lol It was fun but by the end of the 50 mile ride my forearms were buring from holding on so hard, no joke! Now I have it set for least trans and it sets the skis about 6" high for about 200' and just hooks hard. I was beating sleds last year that I would never come close to with the new skid. It was awesome. All my buddys were scratching there heads.

Hay there looks great I was thinking about doing it to my 2000 srx too. I was wondering how much lighter it was than the stock one and what year skid did ya use

The skid i used was a 2002 and i think johnnysrx used a 2005. Check some of his old posts from when he put his in.I think there were somes weights of the skids on there.

proaction is 73 lbs and the edge weighed in at 68. Mine was from a 2001 700. so abotu 5 lbs lighter. I never got mine to transfer as good as these on the most transfer I was getting about 6" of lift and rocketing out of the hole. Least transfer it was on rails, so much ski pressure I coudl do figure 8's on bare pavement. I think I had mine mounted a little high in the rear, if I would have lowered it another 1/2" or so I would probably get the same results as these guys. Awesome skid. I will have mine for sale AFTER I test out the ZX2 to make sure its going to work for me, the edge is dialed in right now and just plain rules.
