I think in the motorsport world it stands for "zero resitance" - it is also the abbreviation for zirconium - that is about all I know!!

Yep, the term ZR has something to do with some lead engineer's name at Arctic Cat. Can't remember what it is though.

For Cat the R desinates Race/Liquid cooled as opposed to Z alone meaning fan cooled.
