Its been awhile since i've posted, but getting ready to bring the sled down, and start some work. I'll be ordering the parts in about 2-3 weeks. planning on doing some tuning up and replace some stuff on the sled for the upcoming season. Just wanted to get some general advice.
It's a 97 Vmax 600 XT
So here is what I'm looking at:
- New track - ripsaw 121x15 1.25"
- New rear Shock and spring, the one on there is worn right out. Anytime I double ride It is constantly bottoming out.
- clutch rebuild Kit, and new springs
- new belt
- new Sliders
- new speedo cable (finally get that working!)
While I am replacing the track I'll inspect the boggie wheel's. A friend suggested I replace them all and new bearings, but I'm not sure thats needed, they don't appear that worn, what am I looking for, for wear on the boggie's, other than the rubber being gone.
Also while I am giving the clutch some loving, any suggestions on what springs to put in, and should I look at changing the Helix?

Well I picked it up used last year, and the speedo says about 15000Km's (9 320Miles) However the Tach isn't working, so it could be higher than that.
The previous owner informed me that a new engine was put in it, less than 5000km's before I bought it, but I'm not sure I believe him. The engine does seem to run quite strong though, and I found out that this machine use to be a rental machine back in its day, which is why the KM's are so high.
I've been brushing up on clutches, does anyone have any suggestions for a good setup for these sleds? I weight about 220 without gear, and ride On and Off trail. I'm not out for all out speed, but rather good pickup from dead stop and at touring speeds.
