Has anyone used these before? If so how did you like them?

Probably something I as an amateur should avoid.

??
Can you explain what this means?

It means that the change of angles is not swept through the entire helical portion of the cam. The change in angles is a more abrubt, quick transition. If you are familiar with plotting it would be more like two linear lines, whereas a sweeping transition is a nonlinear (probably parabolic) curve.
