my dad has an 02 viper, runs great right up about 70 mph then falls flat on its face, when the throttle is open to just about 3/4 throttle, it runs like an ape after the 3/4 it bogs out and stays a constant 68 mph, any help

well working only from that description, I would look at the powervalves, have they been cleaned? are they adjusted? are the cables pulled thru the ends in one or more of them?

Make sure the clear rubber hose is hooked to the front of the air box as well (carb vent line).

Just make sure the cables aren't pulled through and clean the valves while you have them out. The beveled side goes DOWN when you're re-installing the powervalves. Be sure that the cables are adjusted correctly too.
