I picked up some extrovert drivers for my MM700. I went to press them on the shaft and I can't seem to figure out the alignment with the 2 outside drivers (existing). Anyone have any pointers on how these should line up.

The extroverts I got are not the full extros. They still have internal teeth on the inside on one side only. They are Cycle Works. They didn't come with any kind of instructions, so I don't know if the internals should face towards or away from each other.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not to worry...Got it figured. Had to get them all together off the shaft and build the puzzle. Good thing they put aligning marks on them that are useless.

I am planning on it. Even if they are just along for the ride. You need something in there place to act as boggies.

You shouldn't have to run drivers in the outside position when running extros, just the two inside. Most Doos and Polaris only come from the factory with the two inside drivers even when they don't have extros. If it were me, I would press the two outside factory drivers on back to back with your extros so that the two inside drivers would have the internal cogs on both sides (like the new style wahl bros. drivers) and leave the outside empty. Check this link out for some simple shaft measurements

The problem I am having is that the old outside driver cogs don't want to line up anywhich way with the new PPD(Cycle works) driver internal cogs. They are either just in front of the leading edge of the PPD's internals or just behind the back edge. The PPD internal cogs are much wider the the old driver cogs. These PPD only have the one side of internal cogs. My theory was that it would be good to have as much drive as possible. But it doesn't look like my theory will work with the old drivers. I think I may just run the 2 extros.

I have a set of 8 and 9 tooth extros. I was going to use the 8 tooth just because that's what my old ones were. Now that I am not running the outsides I may as well run the 9 tooth extros...

also, I don't think you can run the 9t with a 2" track and stock tunnel/chaincase. You will need to drop and roll. Easiest to install the skid without the track and shocks/springs to see if you have clearance problems with the rail tips. If you end up trimming the rails much then anti-stab wheels might be a good idea. I had a buddy that stabbed a rail and it makes a mess in a hurry!

Funny about the internal cogs not matching up. Their directions (PPD) always used to mention pairing them up with the stockers....

I am running 1 3/4" track. I don't think I will have an issue. Going from 8 to 9 tooth only adds up to less than 1/4" in radius then about a 1/2 for the extros. So I might be looking at maybe 1" at the outside for the rails and maybe 1/4 for the track getting closer to the front of the tunnel. I will check it out. I hope I am OK. Worst case I will put the 8 tooth extros on instead of the 9 tooth.

I am hoping someone will chime in here that has done this on a 99 or newer mountain max 700.

As For the PPDs lining up, I tried everything. No go...the old nobs were either just in front or just behind. I am sure it would have caused a vibration issue.

They should line up if you slip them on and roll the axle on the track checking for the best fit.Ihey also will hit the skid shaft if you dont lathe off 1/4 ".
