I'm cleaning the carb on a 86' moto 4 200 four wheeler for a friend of mine at work and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the fuel screw setting should be? It sat for 2 years and the jets were plugged up pretty good. He had someone else look at it and they played with the settings trying to get it running when all it really needed was the carb cleaned.
Thanks,
Tom

I dont have the yamaha spec but usually more times then not its gonna be around 1-1.25 turns out from lightly seated, that should get you up and running. I always adjust them to the paticular bike after its warmed up, adjust it till you get the highest rpm reading at idle, then readjust your idle stop screw for the rpm you wish to have at idle.
If the screw is located before the slide on the intake side of the carb(engine) then its a fuel screw, if its located after the slide(airfilter side) then its a air screw. So, air screws areadjusted as follows, in is richer and out firther is leaner. Fuel screws are exact opposite.
