Ok I got 6" woodys doolys for my vmax and all the part numbers match up. I even checked woodys site. My problem is that the carbide bar is curved and when put into the ski, (plastic ski, same as viper), it does not fit to the ski. The ski is flat and needs to bend down about 3/4 of an inch in the middle in order for the carbide to fit snuggly. Is this normal?? Are my ski's possibly worn out from previous bad bars?? Or do I just tighten them up snug until the ski bends and seats properly onto the bar?? I know the studs on carbides are designed to break off if you hit something hard and don't want to tighten anything if this is not normal, for risk of snapping a stud. Any help would be appreciated!

Have not used dually's before but I am thinking they are like all the rest when it comes to install. The bent part of the carbide should fit into the rear of the ski area (behind the saddle).

I had 6" Woody's duallies in my 01 SRX stock skis and they were tight but they did fit. As you tighten the bolts, the runners will conform to the shape of the skis. Make sure not to overtighten the bolts though, especially the front bolts. Just tighten them till they are snug. I ended up overtightening mine and they snapped the front bolts after riding awhile and I had to have new mounting bolts welded on. But the overtightening rule holds true with most carbide runners.

That's what I'm worried about is the bolts breaking. The ski is flat. The carbide runner is curved to the point that the middle of the ski is 3/4 of an inch to an inch away from the middle of the runner. It takes three large clamps to get the two together and the runner does not budge. The ski bends into the runner. I did not tighten any nuts at all yet because it doesnt seem there is a good fit. and it seems like the bolts will snap. Does this seem normal?? should I return the runners and go with something else?? something isnt right.

Honestly, there have been many posts on TY about the front bolts snapping off the Woody's duallies because of the same situation you are seeing. I was afraid of the same thing happening and sure enough after the second ride, they were both snapped. I drilled out the old 5/16" front bolts and put in (welded) a heavier 3/8 grade 8 bolt (right through the runner and welded the it on the top and bottom of the runner), then ground it down almost flat to the runner. It has not broken since.

Well I definitely have no way of welding anything, and dont see any point in spending 100 bucks to have something break. I guess I will have to try and return or exchange them. You would think that they would make a better fitting product. Oh well!!
