It was a pretty tight race, Gordon played it pretty smart.

I was glad that Blaney got 3rd. Its nice to see Toyota running well. If Waltrip's tire hadnt blown and if Reutimann, Vickers and Jarrett hadnt gotten taken out in crashes we could have very possibily been talking about Toyota taking their first win. I dont know what Toyota changed on the engines, but whatever they did it definetly upgraded the powerband because those 'Yotas were haulin'!
I found it very interesting that everyone said that the Toyotas had a qualifying setup whereas everyone else had a race setup and thats why they qualified so well and how the Toyotas most likely wouldnt finish, yet NONE of the Toyotas blew up and they were all running well.
This whole weekend was great for Toyota. They won their first ARCA race, won the truck series race, took 6 of the top 8 spots in qualifying for the Cup race and Blaney got 3rd.

I think that if tony had picked one guy to block instead of everybody, he'd probably won.
You crack me up gerby.
I also think toyota is on the right path to being competitive.

They most definetly are. They are steadily improving and it wont be long before Toyotas are winning races and championships.mulderdad said:I also think toyota is on the right path to being competitive.
Adding Gibbs is the next big step. That will give Toyota a top-level team, something that is missing from their lineup this year.
Also, next year Toyota is going to be leasing the windtunnel in Charlotte, NC and they will be building an engine shop and chassis shop in that same area.
Next year you can expect Toyota's Cup program to be VASTLY improved over this year.
Im personally not crazy about Tony Stewart representing Toyota, but as long as he wins races and doesnt whine about driving a Toyota, I have no problem with him. I know that right now he isnt too happy about the move from Chevy to Toyota, but I think that once he sees the commitment and dedication that Toyota has and just how serious they are about winning in every level of NASCAR that he will change his tune.
