Anyone use the lightweight brake rotor? Any problems with it?

MrViper700 told me the basics on installing it...so I'm sure he must've tried it...I'm actually thinkin of ordering the Hub and Rotor this week...Awhile back I heard negative comments regarding the rotor itself...but the hub just makes sense and might free up some weight(maybe a hp or 2)

I am not sure about the wave rotor but I know that the aluminum hubs on the mountain performance rotors wear out after 1000+ miles. If that is okay with you then go for it. I personally just got a viper rotor and we are going to drill it out so it is a total weight loss of 1 pound over stock but still has stock reliability.

I have run aluminum hubs in all my stuff, my first 1998 srx which a good friend owns has over 8000 miles on it and there isnt any problems with it. I used benders hub and added it to my srx/viper rotors, I have used the hubs in the std early rotors 98-00 and the viper rotors without issues. I have never had a mtn performance hub so I cant attest to thier quality but the bender ones were good. Have also used the SLP wave rotor set up before, was a nice quality unit, no problems there either. I have also used the now extinct maxx perfomance unit, was a good one.

Thanks Bruce...I searched on some old postings where you mentioned machining the rotor...Definetly somthing to think about...yeah..I guess I never thought a hub would wear..hell that would wrap up my riding time pretty quick...hmmmm
MrViper your input makes sense after the SLP was pointed out...it looks nice and maybe effective..however I did note that it asked for different Brake Pads..I guess I'll look out for a Bender hub in the mean time...can't seem to get their site working effectivly yet...
Keep the info coming boys...If figured once I lift my baby and crack open the chaincase..this better be worth my time...
cheers

I have had the MPI unit for a couple of seasons now. No wear issues. I did have to convert the parking brake over to a locking lever type. The seperate cable set up wouldn't grip tight enough on the thinner rotor, for moutain use.
No biggy though, kinda glad to be rid of that PIA stock parking brake caliper!
