Help with handle bar setup

I am putting a 6-inch pivot riser on my 03 Viper. After the pivot adapter it will be about 7.5-inches. Plus I am putting on bars with another 3-4 inch rise. I know I am going to need cable extensions and I was wondering where to find some. Would I be able to make my own extensions?
