With the elimination of the 2 strokes from the Yami line-up for the last few years, is it possible that SRX's and Vipers will ever increase in value as the years go on? I'm talking mint machines, with very low clicks. I wonder if there are any left-overs sitting at any dealerships still in the crate? Wouldn't those fetch a high price?
From reading many of the posts on here, I know that people still love their late 90's and early 2000's Vipers and SRX's. SOme have even sold the new sleds to buy up thier tried tested and true machines.
I was just curious about that... lets see what you all think.

I doubt they will ever gain much in value. Even if you had an SRX or Viper that was still in the crate and in pefect condition, 30 years from now I would very much doubt if you would be able to get over $1000 for it.
Snowmobiles arent like classic cars, there just isnt the market for them.
I ask you this: does it really matter? I mean, how can you put a pricetag on the enjoyment you get out of a sled that you love?

I'm planning on up grading rear suspension, change the track to 159, do a complete rebuild with porting next year. I still will not have 8 grand in my sled and I can ride it till the next decade. Sell it? Never. All I need is a can of alum polish, armorall, wax and 3-4 hours of time to make people say WOW. I love it when people walk by my buddies new sleds to my OLD/Vintage machine and ask me to pop the hood.

A NEW 2000 and up srx being worth only 1000 in 30 years? lol...

^^^^^^^^
I was thinking the same thing. Look what the 70's SRX's go for nowadays, and 99% of them that have been purchased in the last 20 years were not still in the crate and they have miles on them.

2001 and 2002 SRX should be worth some good coin in 10 years. I doubt 3 cylinder 2 strokes are coming back anytime soon/if ever, so that helps their value as well. I say the 2001 SRX because it has the 1/4 mile record still and the 2002 SRX because it was the last year for that sled.

Yeah, if you want to be frightened, and don't think sleds are becoming collector items, do some searches on the value now of a King Kat 800.
Hell maybe in 10 years there will be a Barrett-Jackson for sleds?
I'd still like an old sno-twister someday, and a 550 Interceptor, & ......haha

 There was a late 70's SRX on ebay a year or two ago that went for over $10,000!! so 30 years from now the newer aged sleds will be worth some coin as well so long as they are in collectible condition. Some sleds that are only 10-12 years old and in great condition are already gaining some value back.

lol! Any sled in a crate will get way over $1000 for it 30 yrs from now. I'd pay well over $2000 right now for any 30 year old sled (any brand/any model) found in a crate. And I bet most anyone with the cash would also.

So you guys are saying I should have left my 05 Viper Mtn. in the crate when I bought it in April instead of riding it? I think not!! :2strokes: :letitsnow

Guess I can't say anything on SRX or Viper values increasing or holding...but I will admit..the SnoScoot and old Phazers do maintain there values VERY well...Just when
I think i can afford one for my daughter..$DING,DING$...oh well...

Buy it to ride it, modify it so it rides way you want it to. Put your $ in the stock market for a investment. Put your $ in a sled for fun. IMO

PS if your sled goes up in value ;):D LaLaLa ;)! :jump: :na

Don't think anyone is specifically talking about buying one and keeping it crated. More or less talking about finding one 30 yrs from now and its worth.

I doubt they will ever go up in value, but would sell for a pretty penny for its age.
