I just purchased what I was told was a 1997 Exciter II 400 LT. Yet when I look online to find info or parts there is no such sled. Did I get one pulled over my eyes or am I missing something?

dude do not panic. my et 410 doen't exisist either in canada. you just order parts for the closest previous year. never got a wrong part yet for mine and i know it is a 1997.

if it looks the same or similar that is the sled you bought. not an exciter.
