Im Getting Ready To Pull The Motor On My 02 Viper To Do The Crank Seal On The Mag Side Just Want To Make Sure I Need To Pull The Motor And Split The Case. I Also Was Wondering If Anyone Had Any Tips From Being There Before! Thanks

Yes pull the motor and split the case, you want to be able to get at it

grease up the seal befor u put it on and make sure u dont flip any of the lips. make sure theres no burs on the shaft that can damage the seal.

How did you know you needed a crank seal?

when you split the engine check the crank for straightness your local machine shop can check it for you for small money I think. And it a wise thing to do when you have it out. I had a engine that suck air from the seals. The seals looked good but the repairman told me it had been leeking because the crank was not straight. Maybe not the problem in your case but better safe than sorry and better to do it when your engine is split than to have to split it again.

Thanks For All The Help Keep It Comming. I Think I Need The Seal Because I Melted The Piston Twice And Everything Else Is Good Carbs, Pvs Ect.... So Its My Last Hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea Im Going To Do Everthing I Can Including Bringing The Crank To The Machine Shop To Have It Checked Out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im Pulling The Motor Right Now So Hoping To Find A Bad Seal Otherwise My Problem Will Be A Ghost!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant remeber if ur motor has it or not but pretty sure it should. most motors have a drain plug at the bottom of the crank for each cylinder. make sure that ur not missing it that could cause a burn down as well.
