I just changed the bearings in my jackshaft and chaincase due to a reverse install I tighten the chaincase side up first with the set screws loose on the bearing on the secondary side. I was wondering if there is a way to check the gap on the secondary seeing yamaha uses a floating clutch I installed the secondary back on with the bolt, washer and three shims. The secondary moves back and forth creating a gap between the shims and the secondary seems like there should be a measurement of some kind I just want to make sure everything is align and set right. I then would then like to check my offset, I know there is a gauge from yamaha for this wondering if there is a way to do this without buying a guage. I have a 2002 viper standard and a 2003 viper er. I understand that the offset is different on the standard vs the er viper just wondering if I could do it without purchasing two different gauges. Thanks for any help anybody can give just want to make sure thinks are right when the snow flies. Yammi Nut
