They are the trail domes, I measured them before install and they measured a hair under 24cc. When I had them on my Viper with the middle gasket remove, squish clearence measured between .055-.057 on all cylinders.
plenty safe!!ExpertXViper said:They are the trail domes, I measured them before install and they measured a hair under 24cc. When I had them on my Viper with the middle gasket remove, squish clearence measured between .055-.057 on all cylinders.

thanks, and thanks
I had 23 cc domes for trail domes. The squish was right on the edge with them for sea level. You may be able to pull the center layer. Maxdlx

I read somewhere on here(besides the thread above) that the Mega trail domes were like 23.7cc or 23.8cc, I cant remember which but they also made 5-6 diff. design of domes for these heads.

Stay with the 3 layers, the gas in Ont gets worse every year, less octane, and more alcohol. I got some REAL bad stuff once last winter, you don't want to be right on the edge when that happens. I think the DCS may have saved her that day.

^^^ and WATER on top of that! I got a good drink of water in my sled last season and it sure didn't like it. It's stuff like that that makes me want an 02 for the DCS.

cool thanks for all the info.
also thinkign of adding a shut off for the carb heater, sense its direct on the mega heads, could i just plice in to the carb line with a shut off

I used a samll ball valve in the hole for it. I actually put a t in the hole, and had my heater shut off, and temp sender in it. Maxdlx
I ran 2 - .010 Cometic gaskets on my Viper, it put the compresion almost dead center between the stock staggerd numbers.

great thansk for the info, ball valve sounds good.
I may just cap the ends untill i deside what im going to do.
here some pics of the heads
I removed the brass pipe fitting and replaced it with aircraft navy fittings looks even more bling, I also have a stailess braded line but I may just keep the stock hose with the fittings. I can just unscrew the line and add a AN fitting cap to both ends on warm days.
