Anyone use his Can? Claims 3 -5 HP gain? I know with SRX didn't gain any with can, How about the Viper? Looks like good weight savings of 11 lbs. How about the sound? Thanks Blue

I have one on my 02 SRX and I don't feel any loss in power like I have with some of the other cans - I've had Bender, MBRP, and Dynaport cans and they all seem to loose some top end power - the Hauck dosen't - I like the sound of the MBRP the best - the Hauck is a bit higher toned almost to the point of sounding tinny - they all save about the same amount of weight ;)!

terry just a heads up johnny law did not appreciate me running my srx with my growlers on it. needless to say now i have a gutted stock can on it and a set of growlers sitting in the garage.

Have you or anybody noticed any appreciable gains by using a gutted stock can with a stock pipe? Is the noise noticably loader? I ride in WI alot and the DNR up there gets a little excited about anything not stock sounding. My sled's a 03 ported, non-piped viper.

i love the sound of my gutted stock box, its not loud to the point of making your ears hurt but it definately does not sound stock at all.... gives it a nice rumble at idle and a nice loud rip when ya crack the throttle, I dont know about gains hp wise, but i can tell you that i didnt lose anything by doing it and i did free some weight up, lol you would not believe the amount of packing they put in those dam things, lol must be close to 4 pounds of it. I did it more for the sound, and i still wanted it to look stock as well that way when old johnny law pulls me over for noise i can say "look here officer i am completely legal" hahaha

diffrent pipes sound great i've tried some diffrent types but the sound i got after shaving the heads was awsome... you can't beat it.... it sounds like a pissed off chain saw

i think last year when i was about to do mine i posted on here and asked opinions and someone had said they had gutted it but found no gains from doing it, which imo was fine as long as ya didnt lose anything i did it more for the sound since i was in school and couldnt afford a silencer.... but now i definately wont be buying one since i have the sound i have now.... I could be wrong on the viper thing but i thought someone had done it... lol its been awhile, little less then a year since i read that post

Thanks Blue M. I will probally stay with the stock Can. I would consider removing some of the guts but I will see if anyone has done it before 1st. I need to keep this trail ready and legal.
