Interchanging coils ?

Are there any coils that you can interchange with a 300 Inviter coil. I have a 1983 Inviter and believe the coil is bad. Thanks for any help.

1987 was the first year for the Inviter and parts are still available.

I missed typed my Inviter is a 1989. Actually I think the first year was 1986.
