Im in the process of piping my viper with benders tripples . I have their trail setup on my sled now and they told me It wasnt designed for the pipes . Im looking for a setup thats very affordable as Ive all but shot my wad on the pipes and getting the head modded . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated . also . if anyone out there would be interested in trading their piped clutch setup for a trail setup ( thats works great on a stock pipe Viper i may add ) i may be interested . thanks . :letitsnow

what weights do you have now? all you need to do is increase your rpm by 200, so your kit could be made to work rather easily.

I cant remember , they came with the kit . I want to say like 3.5 gramm maybe . If thats all I need to do that would be great . bender told me Id need to swap out everything .

This is just a comparison for you since both of my Vipers are setup with Bender kits. The 02 is tripled and my S has the 4X4/can. Primary looks like it should be a red/orange for both. Helix appears to be the same also. My triple is running a red secondary spring, but the single piper is a black. Specs on the single pipe call for a 6.1 gram in the outer, and for the life of me I haven't a clue what the triple is at. I know next to squat about clutching, but from looking at my two, it would appear that you do not have to change everything. Weights and secondary spring seem to be the only difference in mine.

The experts here will get you setup quickly. At best I can just tell you what I see!

Ijust checked and theyre 6.1 gram rivets . So would i need to change them to lighter or heavier ones ?

are they the stock 8ek viper weights? Im not talking about rivets, the clutch weight

if you mean the arms that the rivets go in yes , i had to drill the old ones out and replace the rivets .

BUT WHAT ARMS ARE YOU USEING< do they say 8ek on the sides?????????????

Sorry im a little clutching ignorant, yes they do say 8EK on them . They are the original arms I just replaced the rivets . Ive been doing alot of reading since yesterday . it looks to me to get the RPMs up I need to lighten the weights but im not sure how that will affect the spring force . Bender wouldnt tell me the helix angle but it is a straight angle 2002b if that helps . the primary spring is orange /yellow and the secondary is black/silver .
I really appreciate your help MRVIPER700 , if it would be easier for you I could PM you my phone # .

No need to apologize, its just on a computer its all in how you read the wording and take a sentence to thought. Sometimes its hard to get someone to understand what your trying to say, being you cant see thier facial expression, hear the voice tone whatever.

Anyways, why dont you try it and see what rpm it runs at with your pipes then just adjust your tip weight most likely to suit your needed 200 rpm? your not going up much in rpm from the stock pipe so its most likely gonna be a simple change, maybe 1-1.5 grams off on each tip would be close. That is if your gonna continue to use what parts you already have, you could always pick up a set of adjustable weights from the aftermarket and set them up to your sled, the nice thing is you can get away from pounding the rivets.

So I guess I have to ask , If you were to try another complete setup for 90%trail riding , 10% lake runs with these pipes what would you recomend ?
Im not all against changing it all out . Im sure i could find the parts on here to swap out springs , weights and helix if need be .

I like the h/c weights, but if your a novice tuner they will most likely intimidate you in tuning them in as many have found out before you.

If your happy with your current set up via the performance, pull, speed, etc, why not just make a simple weight adjustment and run it?
