Hey all, pretty much have done everything I've ever wanted to mod with my sled except for the seat...
I hate my seat, it is way too low for comfort...
I was looking at boss, but from what I can see they only make a standard seat for the viper...
Also checked out mountain mod, couldn't find anything....and I checked out badass seats, they had one seat for 569...wasn't the nicest seat..
What does everyone have here??? What do you all recommend I get???
Thanks, JM

Another option. I am building my own for my SRX right now.

Yeah boss has nice stuff, I will call them during the week when I am not too busy..
I got an email back from mountain mod telling me they have one that fits the mtn max and they will be sending me pictures..
I am assuming the mtn max seat they make would fit my viper...am I right?
I will post the pictures up when I receive them, thanks guys..

The Viper seat is the same as any SX chassis seat. The one on my viper was on a srx previously, fits perfect. The highrise flattop rules!! I will never ride a stock seat again.

Yeah the highrise flatop is a very nice seat, a guy around here with a viper has one I think, but I thought it was a highrise widetop?
Anyone have comparison pics of these two seats? Or am I just mixed up?
I still haven't received the pics from mtn mod, they told me they have a mtn max seat and it is much higher than stock...
I am really interested in this seat...JM

JM,
The way boss works is they make several basic styles of seats, then they make them for many styles of snowmobiles.
Here are the seat styles: LINK
If you search on here a bit you'll find the differences between the styles and what works best for different styles of riding. You may even be able to find some pics.
Hope that helps you,

Yeah this was helpful, I see they have the highrise, drag, shorty, flatop and standard seat styles...
Here's the thing though, I live in a small @ss town and me and an @sshole I know has the same sled and he doesn't like that, I could care less, but I despise the guy, a real spoiled jerk...
Anyways he has the boss highrise so if I get it, he'll make it seem that this is one more thing I've copied on him...he likes to think I copy him, because we have the same sled, had the same quad at one point but my dad sold it...we both like the same style music so at one point he was calling me a poser, because with same style music goes same style t shirts and what not, so he basically said I was copying him completely...
I don't talk to him or have the same group of friends and if he ever did say this sh!t to my face I would lay him out, but it hasn't come to that yet...
Point is, if I get a boss seat while he's still around (here until January I believe, hopefully he's leaving sooner)
So yeah, boss is almost not an option because he's a pr!ck...

Another option I have seen on here is the Polaris Pro XR shorty race seat. A couple people have done it to there sleds that have shown them on here. That is the way I think I will go when I change seats, Looks good.
yamiman's sled with said seat.

order from boss and you'll get it right after he leaves town ....
"NOTE: Due to increased demand during winter months, the estimated production date for seats ordered today is 1/15/2008"
... it'd be nice if only one person had a sled, a seat, pipes, whatever; unfortunately there's too many people in the world for that!!!

Damn his sled is nice...I was looking into doing this actually, found one for an awesome deal last year, but cheaped out haha...
Saw one on ebay a few days ago for 350..not willing to spend that much...If I could find one without a seat cover that would be nice and I would get someone to make me an all black cover...
Ahh well..

my honest opinion? i like the looks of a boss seat better.

I agree, the boss is better looking. Plus the boss keeps the same height all the way to the gas cap and hugs the profile of the tank. It almost looks like that seat will have a little trough between the seat and tank. But as far as it fitting the viper, from the looks of it, it should fit on there.
