I am adding a set of TMX 38's to my 02 SRX ported 700. I have been throwing around the idea of adding a digatron but the 02 already has a dcs unit on it. Won't this dcs unit prevent it from burning down?

how long of a run!!!!

for general ridding I'd leave it off. When you line up for long straight runs at wfo turn it on. Jet accoding to plug and pistons first then turn it on and see what temps you are at. maxdlx

egt's are a GREAT tool, just not for setting up your jetting FIRST. you need to find a baseline, then see your what your temps read and go from there.

You can run the DCS on a ported or modified motor and it will continue to do what it was designed to do - protect the motor from detonation - as far as the EGT, I agree 100% with the rest of the posts - check your plugs and cylinder wash first - once they are good, hook up the EGT to see were the temps are at - if you do it the other way around, tuning with the EGT, you are going to go through alot of pistons!!! - funny thing about EGT's - they let you know the tempurature of the cylinders just before they blow!!!! - keeping the DCS functional is alot safer!!!
